Carrying with him the game rules (of traditional and online bingo) and such exuberance, Lowe with colleague Carl Leffler, brought the game to a level higher by redeveloping and renaming it to “bingo”. Leffler was a Columbia University Math professor whom Lowe hired to increase the number combinations in bingo cards. This led to a diversified game so that by 1930, the duo created a total of over 6,000 different number combinations on bingo cards, and the game of bingo began to catch on in popularity.
A Catholic priest from Pennsylvania asked Lowe’s help to use his game to raise funds, and the more it became more popular. By 1934, there were an estimated 10,000 games played in the US weekly.
Today, 70 years later, the game has reached popularity worldwide. And, visit website and UK bingo might well fit the bill as the future of bingo.
